Hello Steve,
You can get VW Beetle pistons of 87mm, they are pretty cheap and you have to bore the Tipo Lump from 86,4 to 87
Make sure you get the right Tipo lump, there are several types which are not identical.
I have the Spesso gaskets, they work very fine!
The inlet valves are very good to use, but use the standard outletvalve from the UT because they are cooled. You have to machine the head a little.
On the other side, you can also use the 1,3 UT head on the Tipo block. There are some people who have tried this and works very well.
To save money I am doing the 1498cc turbo SOHC. (std compression is 1:
I am not sure which engine is cheaper to get, the Tipo or the 1500cc MPI (from some Uno's or the Xer) I know someone who just took this engine, build the Uno stuff on it and ready for use!
Till sofar, no problems at all.
Good luck!, JC
